Laurena Marrone is the President of Grit PR & Promotion, a well-known and respected company that provides publicity, radio promotion and marketing to a diverse set of clients. She has been involved in the music, arts entertainment and sports industries since 1985. As a Brooklyn, NY native, Laurena has worked as an independent publicist for artists in all genres of music and the arts, as well as sports and fashion, making her one of the most diverse entrepreneurs in the business. Making her mark in the industry, Laurena was the youngest person to hold an impressive National Director’s position at MCA Records in the late 80s and early 90s. She then went on to work for nonprofit organizations, distributors, artists, theatre companies, gyms, and more, while also adding extensive writing abilities and guerrilla marketing tactics to her already vast skill set.
One of the most unique things about working with Laurena is that she has firsthand knowledge and experience as a working artist as well as an entrepreneur, having toured several countries as a Flamenco artist, and founding what became the largest Flamenco dance academy and nonprofit organization devoted to Flamenco in the Northwest. She produced several tours and planned, produced and executed the first-ever Northwest Flamenco Festivals in 2005 and 2007, which brought the finest artists in the genre from Jerez, Spain to the Northwest to the delight and amazement of thousands of students and aficionados of the art form.
